Key issues in todays production processes are
defined by productivity enhancements, quality enhancements, security
aspects and technology reusability integrated systems. Although
the focus changes slightly to security all these integrated requirements
hold as well for modern falsification approaches.
Due to the terror attachs in 2001 efforts in
closed user group application, access control systems, biometric
recognition systems, etc. have been increased ever since. While
technologies can concentrate on certain areas operational systems
have to consider the total process and it's architecture. Doing
so one recognises quickly that the basis for applying dedicated
technology is a well-maintained information.
This means, that the production process of identification
or access cards and the degree of resistance against falsification
is the basis for all future discussions. Consequently, the process
is the current interest of all states around the world.
BEROTRONIKA Systeme has already shown the available
expertise in bringing systems for secure ID card production alive.
These systems cover the aspects:
End-to-End
Information Technology:
Design and Implementation of the telecommunication and security
architecture for integrating all access points into a global VPN.
Where terristic networks do not offer the required quality of service
or security wireless services can be added to allow data transmission
for application data input as well as access to the central ID data
pool for verification purposes (government, border, embassy, police,
...)
Document Security:
Since security has a direct influence on
the production costs a clear demand for mass-products like ID cards
is an inexpensive production of a high-level falsification-proof
document. Today the best fit solution is given by laser carved,
paper-thin ID cards/passports. Additional parameters may be added
depending on the profile, e.g. invisible ultraviolett, infrared
and/or electronic identifications, holograms, smart card chips,
...
Verification Process:
Biometric recognitions require comparisation with existing data,
falsification checks require unique characteristics of the document,
etc. Thus, IT process need to be established , new devices need
to be integrated and response times need to be improved. BEROTRONIKA
Systeme has such architectures ready for implementation, e.g. border
control and police car access.
Of course, falsification-proof security
is an issue in other environments as well, e.g. banknotes and goods
of particular value like contracts, antique valuables like pictures,
pottery and the like.
